On 16th October Philip Arrell came to classify thirty-five heifers which averaged at Gp80 and eight cows, four that went excellent and four that were Vg. We were very pleased with the classifications, especially with the heifers as they show great promise to improve into impressive cows.
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of rural Shropshire the Rodway Organic Dairy Herd have been farming for more than 100 years. The herd comprises of 100 milking dairy shorthorn and some danish reds. Graham Madeley the owner, sees over operations at the farm which amounts to 145 acres of land. The herd is run on an extended grazing system, which the dairy shorthorn suits perfectly.
